Rebuild process inquiries/apps question

Hey all.

So I've gotten 4 cards in the past six months. 2 cap one, kohls, and firestone. I have a lot of inquiries due to trying to get a car loan last July and getting HP'd a total of 10 times in the process. Once those inquiries fall off should I apply for another card? I'm looking to keep building to be able to get approved for a mortgage next spring. Currently my scores average 670. Would it be more beneficial to just keep using and paying the cards I have, or apply for one more card? Currently have the 4 plus an auto and 2 student loans.

Thanks!

I am no expert by any means as you can see by my siggy but based on what i've read on the boards you should just keep what you have and manage (garden) those and get any baddies off your credit. Good luck!
