Re: Rebuilding My Credit

1. Get another non-store card.

2. Stop applying for credit for 12 months.

3. Pay all cards except one before the statement cuts so all cards except one show a zero reported balance. The one that carries a balance should not be the store card.

4. Keep utilization at 5% or under.

5. Don't miss any payments.

I agree with all this except #1. Rather than getting another credit card (why?), get a small installment loan, if you don't already have one OP. Installment loans can be personal loans, student loans, mortgage, auto loans, etc. I'm not saying go out and buy a car or a house unnecessarily of course, but I just mentioned those to point out that if you already have one of those types of loans, then you're good.

I believe 3 bankcards are optimal for AZEO.

Re: Rebuilding My Credit

If you already dont have one then adding an installment loan even if it is a secured or credit builder loan from credit union or CreditStrong or some other installment loan would help you.

Let one report a $20 balance on staement date. Then PIF before the due date. your losing points for no use in FICO's eyes. No more seeking credit. Your inq level is way too high. Looks desparate. After a year FICO drops them and theres more points gained. You got 3 cards and a loan. Your set for now. Whatever is lurking in the past as in baddies will age more and hurt less. Chill for a while and let things age and grow for a while. Its a marathon and not a race.
