Hello everyone. I am on a journey to rebuild and repair my credit like many. I joined this Forum to educate myself as best as possible about credit. I am looking for advice as to what steps I should take to rebuild.
I have 15k of debt which is solely from student loans. I have 5 open student loan accounts, 4 of 5 I’ve missed 7 payments in 2018( had a bad year financially) and 1 of 5 I missed 2 payments. Since then I’ve made 11 consecutive payments on all 5 accounts and I’ve brought my payment history to 79%. Doing this I’ve managed to bring my score from the high 400’s to mid 500’s. I’ll add that I’ve had a capital one secured card for one year, they raised the limit from $300 to $500 two months ago. I’ve had my destiny card for 3 months(I know it’s a crap card lol).
Average age of credit history is 4 years. 0 derogatory marks. 2 hard inquiries.
2 of 5 student loans are 8 years old. 3 of 5 are 4+ years old.
With that being said is there anything else I can do to raise my score? I’ve been told to get added on au’s or primary’s if I can find any. I look forward to the feed back.
Thanks

what is your utilization ? It's a good place to start.. try to get it under 5% and keep it there.
My utilization stays below 5%. I only use my cc to pay for Hulu & Netflix subscriptions. Other than that I don't use them at all.
I think all you can really do is keep doing what you're doing (pay on time, just be patient). I would've said try for GW removal of the late payments, but with student loans, that won't be an option until the loans are paid in full.
Perhaps getting added on as an AU may help, if the TL has been open a long time (much longer than your 8 year history) and has a high limit with very low utilization.
I agree with @OmarGB9. Your utilization is low and your making payments on time... that's pretty it. Time and consistency will reflect on your score. ![]()
