Removing Collections from report

We are in the process of trying to get a construction loan.  My wife has two medical collections on her report that were paid and never should have been there.  One for 1554 and one for 216.  They were paid in full.  The hospital sent them to a collection agency who reported the to the credit bureaus.  The hospital is telling me that it was their fault but will take 30-45 days for them to be removed from her credit report.  Would doing an online dispute help at all at this point or do we just have to wait out the 30+ days.  Her mortgage scores took a huge hit so we need it corrected.

Thanks!

Re: Removing Collections from report

The lender you are working with can they do a rapid rescore?  I've had to do that and basically do a 3-way call with the credit vendor, the company that had the account and myself, to try and confirm recent payments.  Might be better, then disputing which could end up being a real headache for you instead of speeding it up.

Not sure about that but I will ask.  Thanks!
