Well, I decided after Equifax told me they could and would not do anything, that Asset Acceptance is the only one that remove the reporting off my credit report, even though I pointed out the information is not validated, is breaking Idaho Statues and FDCPA, etc, yet they don't care as long as AA has my birthday, ss# and name and they can verify that those are correct.
So, I went to the Idaho Statues and got information and then to FTC and got the same information regarding charging interest and not validating, etc. Then I went to the FTC complaint website and filed the information. Since so many people on this forum don't seem to be aware it is in the FDCPA, I was surprised to see in the check boxes that you can choose, that charging interest is one of them.
I also reported that Equifax did not care and would not do anything about it. I called and spoke to 3-4 different people today.
So, my next step is to try my Attorney General and the BBB. Then if EX and TU won't remove the false data, I guess I will report them also. Boy, I hate to do all this, but that is why we have protection in place. I just hope that I get the results that others on this forum have gotten, which is very quick results.
Not only does it affect the mortgage I will apply for these next two weeks, but if affects me keeping my present job and has kept me from getting hired on a gov job.
I am not seeking to circumvent correct reporting, just asking they validate and obey the law when reporting. Now, I think since it is 5 am, I should go to bed.

Definitely file the complaint with your AG. I'd then send an ITS letter to the CRAs who have, or will refuse to delete, referencing the FTC & AG complaints. And then I'd sue them.
Hi StartinOver,
I would definately file a complaint to your AG and the BBB. AA is affilated with the BBB, which means they must respond within I think it 30 days. The FTC is good too, but you most likely will not get a response back. You will get a response back from the AG and the BBB.
I filed a complaint with the FTC, my AG and the BBB on Assett for not following through with their agreement and it worked via BBB.
good luck and I hope everything works out for you!
