Repossession

So confused

Pulled my TU and EQ reports and discovered that the car i used 30 mins before to run to the store had been repossessed!

Whats throwing me (besides the obvious) are the dates of payment, delinguencies, acct closure, etc.

TU says acct closed:11/08 +EQ says last pymt: 4/10 = ? Is it normal for something to show up closed on 1 and payment since on another!?

EQ says 1st delinquency: 9/08----thing is 3 months before there was a bit of confusion over automatic payment when debit card had to be stopped and another issued.

Seems to me that would be the first late.

That one time i got a call from the creditor and the situation was easily resolved but if the repossessed car, that as of 15 mins ago, sitting in front of house was in danger of going bye bye I tend to think that they might have made their way here since I drove it off the lot in March 07.

My head is spinning! Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Re: Repossession

Welcome to the forums!

Since your questions are about "fixing" credit problems, I'm going to move your thread to the rebuilding your credit forum. Good Luck!!!!

Re: Repossession

Based on what you posted, it looks like it is reporting OK. EQ is saying the DOFD is 9/2008. Is this the first month you went late and never recovered or brought it current? If so, then the date is correct. Date of closure for a baddie means nothing to creditors or your score, but 11/2008 should coincide with the approx. repo date. If unpaid, they can update your TLs with a new late every month up to the point you paid it off, settled, or it gets sold to a CA. The date of last payment showing for 4/2010 could be caused by several things. A payment could reset that. A credit adjustment from the OC can do that. Or if sold to a CA, and if it now reports $0, then the last payment date would be the date they sold it to a CA. That date is unimportant to your scores but could be an issue if any of the three scenarios didn't happen.

In any case, don't do anything unless you have the $$$ to PIF if you had to or SOL expires.

Re: Repossession

As of this morning they said the payments are fine and all but said it was their error. I know someone who works for the same company and she said the best possible person to handle it has it. Gonna pull reports again in a few weeks to see if they have followed through. Cant help but wonder if this error could be contributing to trouble finding a job. Pretty annoyed.
