Revolving account (Macy's) reporting twice on CR

I pulled my report on 27-Mar-13 and Macy's is reporting the account where I am an authorized user twice.  The balance is $0 but I'm not sure if its helping or hurting my score. I'm trying to first figure out if this is beneficial to my credit before I reach out to them or the CRA.  .

My questions:

  • Is this duplicate reporting of a $0 balance revolving account beneficial to my score?
  • Is the high balance greater than the credit limit harmful to my score?
  • Why aren't the other two CRA (EQ, EX) reporting anything on this account?

ProsCons
Account opened 1996Account listed twice by TU
Zero balanceHigh balance greater than credit limit
Only an Authorized user
(can be removed if beneficial to score)

Only reported by TU

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP!

I can't really see what you posted but if it is in good standing, no lates it would help you.

Does Macy's report a CL?

Re: Revolving account (Macy's) reporting twice on CR

Apparently, on my account they post a CL - $2,000 and $1,900 with $4,288 and $2,133 being the high limts respectively.

And yep....no bads are reported on either duplication so that's great!

My major concern is the high balance is more than the credit limit.  Is this negative?

It looks as though they are two seperate accounts. They both have different dates opened, limits and high limits. The only thing that appears the same is the date reported.

It appears to be the different, but the redacted account numbers are the same.  Sorry i didn't make that part totally clear in OP.

Re: Revolving account (Macy's) reporting twice on CR

As long as the balance is currently 0, the high limit has no impact on your score.  It is just the highest the balance held ever was.

Now, if they didn't report a CL then it would impact your score.

Thanks guiness56.  I had no idea the absence of a CL impacted score.  I think I'll just leave these be.
