No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
The purpose of this thread is to start a list of milestones that we know correspond to increases in credit scores. Please feel free to add your own here and I'll occassionally edit the main post to include them. If you are not sure if it adds to score then indicate as such.
1. 6 months from date of HP
2. 12 months from date of HP
3. 12 months since last late payment
4. 2 years past last 30 day late
5. new account makes 6 months in age
6. last baddie falls off report (possible decrease from rebucketing)
7. decreasing utilization (sliding scale - 2 to10% UTIL seems to be sweet spot)
8. reducing "maxed out" card to below 50% UTIL
Events that do not raise scores:
1. sole 90 day late making 5 years old
2. HP making 2 years old
I feel silly asking, but what does "HP" stand for?
Hard pull, your credit inquiry.
