I just got my EQ credit report (from annualcreditreport.com) and noticed that my Capital 1 secured card is not showing at all. This is the only 'revolving' account and frankly one of the best 'positive history' accounts that I have.
I have had this card since May 2010.
I did not get an EQ report last year so I can't compare it., although my EX and TU show this positive account. Cap 1 says it reports to all 3 major bureaus so what steps do I take to get this reported?
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? How did you resolve it?
Hello PapasWifey,
Contact Capital One,tell them your CC is only reporting to 2 of the 3 CRA's. Ask if they can report to all 3 CRA's.
Also make sure they have your correct spelling of your full name, correct & current address and correct SS#.
So that EQ will not have a problem finding your file, to start reporting this CC.
Others here may have more ideas you can try. Good luck to you.
Hi lightnin thanks for your input. I chatted with a rep from Capital One and she told me to contact Equifax to resolve this. I went to Equifax site to do an online disupte, unti I realized there wasn't a way for me to 'dispute' what was NOT already showing on my report LOL. I called the number for disputes but they're only open 9-5 M-F. So I suppose I will have to wait until then.
I would love to hear other options also, as I want to get the best chances of getting this resolved ASAP. Perhaps I'm too anxious with this credit stuff

I think this rep has it backwards. The CRA''s can only report what a creditor sends to them. I think I would first follow up with Cap 1 to see if they show in their records that this is being sent to Equifax.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 3/11 pulled by lender- 835, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem".
Marine, that's what I was thinking but I figured maybe I was just ill-informed!
I will try again with Cap 1.
Here is the response I got from Cap 1:
Thanks for contacting us about your Capital One account.
We have submitted your request. Any discrepancies found will be reported
to the credit bureaus for correction. A letter regarding the
investigation will leave Capital One within 10 business days. Please
allow 10 additional days for mail time.
It's hard to wait 20 days to get this stuff reported. Hopefully it gets handled ASAP.
Update:
I got a letter from Capital One stating:
Thanks for contacting us about your credit bureau report. We've verified that the information on your
credit report matches the information in our records.
We have verified that the above referenced account is reporting to your credit file.
We provide information on the status of your account to the credit reporting agencies every month.
lf you still believe we've supplied incorrect information to the credit reporting agencies, please send us
a copy of any documentation that supports this, such as your credit report, Please mail the information
by 02/17/2o12
I called Capital One to ask them why is that I need to send them a copy of my CR, when they don't have a problem pulling my CR to 'deny' me for increases . I told the rep that I am 100% positive that it is not reporting. She told me that its being investigated still (even thought the letter does not give that impression, to me) but I'm not sure if that's the case.
Any recommendations on how to approach the CRA?
I didn't realize until I read this post that my Capital One Secured card is only reporting to Transunion and Experian. It is not reporting on Equifax either. I guess I will call Capital One and see if I can get them to report to Equifax also.

hmm, I wonder what's going on if yours is also not reporting. If you get anywhere, please share and I will do the same.
