Sharing my successful goodwill deletion letter with South West Credit Systems.

Few months ago I ask SWC for a pfd but was denied. I paid the collection anyway. Next I typed my own goodwill deletion letter and used the goodwill saturation technique to get them to remove the CO off my report. Saw a huge bumb in my yscore. I'm now sharing that goodwill letter. I hope it will help someone in the future. Im also welcome to any advice that will help me improve these types of letters.

 To whom it may concern,

My name is James, and I first want to thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I’ve had a great experience with Southwest Credit System, and my goal is to maintain the relationship we’ve built over the last year.

I recently pulled my credit report and discovered I have a paid collections account that was reported on 8/24/23 for account *****. You purchased this debt from Comcast whom I had an account with. I changed residence and thought that I had paid my last bill with them, but I did not. They charged the account off for $175 and sold you the debt. Once I realized this debt was reporting to my credit history, I immediately paid it in full without hesitation.

Yet the “paid collections” tradeline is still reporting on my credit history. The purpose of this message is to ask Southwest Credit to stop reporting the tradeline because the mere presence of such tradeline brings the integrity of my credit worthiness into question.

Section 623 of the FCRA states that information reported must be accurate but does NOT mandate what is to be reported. While the status of “paid collection” is accurate, I do not believe it benefits me nor you  reported.

Based on my prompt full payment of my debt to you, I would like to request that you apply a goodwill adjustment to remove the collection tradeline from my credit report. Granting this request will help me improve my overall credit history and demonstrate my consistency as a creditworthy borrower.

Thank you in advance for your consideration

How long did the deletion take to reflect on your credit score?
