Sore increase...goodwill letter timing?

I have 8 charge offs that I just settled and I have 2 collections I did pay for delete.

The first collection came off and my fico 8 score rose 12 points.

This morning the first charge off account changed status.

Captiol one.

Settled, legally paid for than less. No zero balance. Instead of reporting charge off it just reported negative.

My fico 8 jumped 17 points!!!!

Is this a trend that could continue as the status of each charge off changes and also that last collection gets deleted?

Also, when would be good timing to send Capitol one a goodwill letter maybe to remove the account or delete the negatives.

Re: Sore increase...goodwill letter timing?

The balances from CO's is calculated into your aggregate usage %'s. Once all CO's are settled/PIF. They will no longer affect your util. Score bumps will happen. Although the hit for having CO's will remain until they all fall off 7yrs from the DoFD. Even with 1 left will hurt. CO's wont be removed or deleted. Creditors are taking in less than they put out and they wont say sure we'll delete/remove it for you. Cap1 isnt forgiving when it comes to CO's. They're here to stay. Deletion of the CA's may help a small bit. Congrats on getting it all taken care of.

Re: Sore increase...goodwill letter timing?

Oh ok. I really hope the trend continues as my main focus is on Score.  I had 2 more accounts update today. Jumped another 20 points.

Still have about 5 more charge offs to update and 1 collection that will be removed.

Fico 8 has went from

July 509

August 534

and as of today 590 and climbing.

Re: Sore increase...goodwill letter timing?

So fico 8 is 590 this morning.

Everything has been paid but here are current results The only thing I'm worried about is Netcredit...they never reported charge off just late 180 days...but I settled with them...I'm afraid that my drop my score somehow...all the others that need to update and collection to come off should help. If I can get a fico 8 of 620 I'd be happy.

Re: Sore increase...goodwill letter timing?

Some bureaus are slower than others at updating, yes. As far as your score continuing to climb, it'll slowly taper off. The big jumps aren't forever I'm afraid. It's still good you've taken care of the debts though.

620 *may* be attainable, but don't be discouraged if it doesn't quite get there. As far as that Netcredit, if it never reported charge off, then all they're required to update is the balance of zero since you settled.
