Hello everybody!
Happy Holidays! So my new year’s resolution is to clean up my credit (which is pretty bad). I started out by ordering my three free credit reports from the FTC. While reviewing this I found out that I have 4 different accounts in collections for an old Sprint bill for $773. The DOFD on this was 10/08 which is outside the SOL. I am trying to find the best way to clean this up. Below are the four collection agencies.
I am not sure which CA currently owns the account. If I pay one will the other three come off my CR? Thank you so much for all of your help!

- W.C.I. – Redmond, WA
- Enhanced Recovery Company – Jacksonville, FL
- Convergent Outsourcing – Renton, WA
- ER Solutions – Renton, WA

Convergent Outsourcing at one time was ER Solutions so they are the same company. Only one of their listings should be on your report.
What does it say about the others? Did they sell the debt to another CA?
What state are you currently in?
If one CA sold it to another you probably cannot have it removed. The 2 that are the same company you might be able to dispute as duplicates since they changed their name.
As for the SOL, I used to believe that US Code applied to cell phones. But, as it was written many years ago, and no mention of cell phones is in it, I no longer believe that. As far as I know, no one has ever used the 2 year SOL as a defense. Most cell phones are under written contracts.
Only one CA can actively collect any debt at a time.
You can find out who owns it and ask for a PFD. Only the CA currently collecting can remove their TL. You can try a GW, once its paid, to the other one.
