I was denied due to the accuracy of the report. Should I try again with another letter or just give up?

Capital One isn't one of the creditor's that make goodwill adjustments easily... they do occasionally grant a goodwill adjustment, but I think all of us here would have been more surprised if they had granted your request with the first letter.
While you may never get the goodwill adjustment you are asking for, you will definitely not get it if you don't ask.
The saturation technique seems to offer your best odds of a favorable outcome... keep sending letters and emails to them, the more people your request reaches... the better your odds of finding a sympathetic individual.
Best of luck!
Great advice. I will keep sending them letters. I greatly appreciate it....
Is it for lates or a charge off. Lates keep on mailing. CO wont happen. Good Luck!
I've seen plenty of DPs for Cap One removing lates via goodwill. If it's a charge off, forget it. You're never getting a goodwill removal of a CO. If you do, pics or it didn't happen. LOL. Best advice...keep at 'em. Don't use a template or form letter. Write something personal...take responsibility for the lates, explain what caused them, point out your excellent (hopefully) payment history before and after the lates occurred, and respectfully ask for the late payments to be removed from your reports. Send the letter to the literal CEO of Cap One or another very high ranking corporate officer or board member. You can usually find this information with a quick Google search. Forget low level customer service or a generic address. You need a big wig's assistant to work on it for you. It still may not work. Cap One is under no obligation to remove accurate information from your reports, but these are the tactics I've seen that yield the best success. Good luck!
Wow! Capitol One called me back yesterday after being denied the day before. They are clearing out my lates from job loss through COVID...
