T-Mobile Amsher Collection

Hello Everyone,

New to the forum here, I've had a T Mobile account that has entered collections for about a year now I don't remember the last collection agency it was with but this is the second one called Amsher Collections Services. On my credit report it says collection account opened August 2017, so about 4 months now with a balance of about $1700 dollars. I've heard of people going higher up and emailing the CEO and having success with it being removed after being paid in full. I went ahead and did this and spoke to someone in the executive office over the phone he listened to what I had to say and was a very nice person but he said unfortunately they took over the account and there was nothing he was able to do. My question is for you is how am I able to get this removed off my credit?

Thanks

Re: T-Mobile Amsher Collection

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do.

Is the debt still within the statute of limitations for your state? If so, pay it / settle it so they don't sue you. Wait a few months after payment and try disputing with the credit bureaus. They may not bother responding to a paid debt dispute which will result in deletion by the bureaus.

You can also try a goodwill letter after paying the debt and beg (practically) for deletion out of the kindness of their cold, dead hearts (this actually worked for me once).

If it's no longer within SOL, then keep trying PFD letters by mail (always do PFDs in writing). You can also try disputing with the bureaus in hopes they don't respond.

Re: T-Mobile Amsher Collection

Hmmm... You can certainly try. There may be a violation on their part for not notifying you. Look up the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and see what it says about initial contact.

Re: T-Mobile Amsher Collection

The FDCPA does not provide any "right to demand validation," even if sent within 30-days of dunning notice.

A DV request, if timely, imposes a cease collection bar on the debt collector, which remains in effect until such time as the debt collector first provides the requested validation.  FDCPA 809.

The debt collector can choose to never respond or send any validation, and there is no violation unless they continue debt collection activites without first sending the requested validation.  You are thus not ensured of any period for any response, or in fact, any validation.

You can still send a request for debt validation, even if it is no longer timely.  However, the DV imposes no cease collection bar, and thus can be ignored by the debt collector.

Re: T-Mobile Amsher Collection

I tried doing the pay for delete letter and never admitted the debt was mine or disputed it and on my credit report they marked "consumer disputes this account information" and t mobile sends me a letter in the mail with my bill i owe them Smiley Indifferent
