what steps do I do to help with item. I've worked hard to get this far.

its showing closed on 2018 and settled for less and closed.
I don't want to reset the time frame but says closed, what should I do? IMG_9323.png

Re: TD Bank USA/ Target Credit

I would say file a dispute online with trans union and click 'too old to report' because the date of first delinquency was more than six and a half years ago they should remove it early

*****edit

i just saw that you made a payment after the charge off four years ago

im not sure if that resets the clock for an early exclusion with transunion

so id wait for some experts to weigh in before going that route

Re: TD Bank USA/ Target Credit

The 7-year reporting period is based on the date of first delinquency.  That is the date the account went into default and was never brought back to a current status.  Disputing an account cannot reset the timeframe.  In fact, once an account is charged off, nothing can reset the date of first delinquency.

Re: TD Bank USA/ Target Credit

I actually tried to dispute it in 2020 and that was the recent activity that they're showing.

What you're looking for here is an early exclusion from your report.

it's really for having bankruptcy removed from your report early.

transunion also does it for charge offs and collections up to six months early

the easiest way to get one is to dispute online and select this account is too old to report

some people type in 'this is not a dispute, requesting early exclusion'

but I always just select too old to report and leave the comments blank

its worked for me twice

one collection six months early and one almost two years only

search transunion ee, you'll see a lot of successes

Re: TD Bank USA/ Target Credit

Thank you I submitted a too old for report and left comments blank! Fingers crossed, it's 63 points difference between the other two agencies. Would be nice to have it gone.
