Have you tried calling? Why not try a call before the letter?

Best suggestion yet.... there nothing wrong with a GW letter but, this could likely be easily remedied with a phone call. If you've otherwise had an excellent payment history with them, many lenders will give the "courtesy" of removing the late. If you don't succeed with the first person you talk to, try someone else. If there's no luv via phone call, THEN I'd try GW letter route.
I called, and I spoke with 2 different representatives both said it was nothing they could do about it.. That I needed to contact the credit bureaus.. I don't have any other numbers for Target credit outside of the regular customer service line..
The credit bureaus will do nothing except open a dispute, the reporting will be verified and the late will remain. If you were unable to escalate your calls up to a supervisor with TD Bank... then a GW letter campaign will be your only shot, but I wouldn't give up.
Thank you..Should I contact TD bank directly? Or call the target redcard number again and ask for a supervisor? When I called I just spoke with a customer service agent

TD Bank issues the card and is likely the one doing the reporting so, I would focus my attention towards them... if you don't make any progress after politely explaining the snafu and reminding them of your otherwise excellent history with them with 1st level CSR, I would most definitely try to escalate it to a supervisor.
Ok.. I just called them again, and I got a supervisor. She stated that she can do a dispute for me, and it'll be done internally they'll review my account and see if I had any other missed payments etc.. Then they'll determine if they will remove it from my credit profile. She said someone would either call me, or I'll get a letter in the mail.. I'm not sure if this is the normal process, but anything beats a flat out no! So I'm praying they remove it! Thank you so much for your help

It might be their normal process, but like you said it's better than an outright denial. I hope it goes your way, and that you'll come back and let us know the results.
I think you'll ultimately prevail. Worse case, if they don't remove the late on their own, I think you can simply dispute it with the Bureaus. Target would have to defend it when the Bureaus reach out to them after your dispute. If you had a flawless payment history before and since the late, I bet they won't bother to defend it and it will get removed.
I'm praying this is the case.. Lol I've worked so hard to get my scores where it was. And I'm just so upset that this has happened! I'm also just noticing that they dropped my credit limit from 2200 to 200😫 But I'm not really concerned about that. As I rarely use the card. I used it because I was sent a notice to use it or lose it. That's why I put the small purchase on it. Kinda wishing I just let it close! I really appreciate you'll for the advice!
