Hi All
This is my first post, and I am unsure as to where to place it. I just wanted to thank all whom participate on the forums and myFico in general for the solid advice in getting me redirected to a better credit score and lifelong knowledge of credit.
Last year, about 1/2014 my credit score was something like a 580. After a year it has climbed to about a 670+ and I just recieved my second unsecured cc with a $10K limit. I am astonished and grateful for all the advice on these forums as it has helped me remove all my 3 collections accounts from a year ago, removal of one tax lien from public records, and I now have 2 ccs, 1 secured with a cl ~$11K, with responsible payments and ratio below 10%. I know my current score will only go in one direction, up!, perhaps slowly, but I am shooting for ~720 by the end of next year, hope its realistic and achievable, so I still have a lot of "gardening" to do in the coming year!
I did not want to go into my story in depth, could take several chapters in a novel, but did want to try to convey to newcomers, and those new to the credit game that you really must have patience, patience and more patience! I see posts about increasing credit score by 100+ points in a month, 6 months, a year, there is no magic formula, as everyone's history an derrogatory marks are all unique. I can only offer to read the posts carefully, sift through what may/does pertain to you, and follow the common trend of excellent advice.
Anyway, I live and work in NYC and currently rent a room in one of the boroughs. Yes, you can live humble and frugal with one thought in mind, your future. I plan to rent an apartment by early next year. No need for a car, but eventually would very much like to buy my own apartment. I am laying out my foundation, perhaps again, but it is mine and eventually will be strong enough to grow on its own!
Thank you all again for listening to my bantor!
God bless and best of luck to you!
Anthony!
