I just wanted to give a very big thank you to all of you who have helped me out so far. Im glad to say that I have resovled 8 charged off accounts last week all with good settlements. Also paid down my current card to 5% utilization so im hoping for a good decrease in balances once they all report.
Now I have only one item left. Toyota Financial Services. Back in 2014 I went to a dealership to get a Camry on a lease. About 17 month later the dealer contacted me and told me I could upgrade my lease right now and trade the lease in for a 2016 model. I did so and everything went smooth. About 2 weeks later they contact me to say they miscalculated payments and I still owed around $500 on the old lease. In all truth here, at the time I was in college and financially $500 was a big deal. I absolutely couldnt afford to pay them and was annoyed at the fact they had expected me to. Fun Fact, when they approved me for the new lease my scores were around the high 400s
, so I have no idea how they even pushed that through. This was from all these bad charge offs I had on my report. parents were in financial ruins at the time too becasue my dad had not been working for 6 months, I couldnt even get an approval from a payday loan company.
Anyways, they charged it off for about $3400 after they sent me a letter several months later saying that the car was going to auction. Every single payment was on time for those 17 months, and my 2016 has been on time for the past 31 months, I was beyond livid when I saw that come up on my report.
I sent a email to the ex CEO explaining everything and got a response from the executive office last week acknowledging my email but have not heard since. I am honestly thinking of taking this to a small claims court if someone thinks I have a case here not only to have that removed at no fault but also for causing damages to my credit report. Am I in the wrong here ? I dont have much funds left to pay this charge off but even if I had $3000 laying around I feel this is so wrong for me to pay. Be brutally honest with me if you want.
