Hello, all.
I called the OC Collection Department & paid off 4 medical collections(totaling $61); They insisted it'd be removed from credit reports, but not having anything in writing is so unsettling.
Anyone else have problems believing that it'd be removed?

The one time I did it - I didn't have an issue.

I didn't get it in writing either - I just paid with my discover card (I trusted the OC since it was a utility) and figured if it didn't come off - I'd have proof of payment....Didn't need it tho - it was gone within a matter of days - even though they said it could take up to 45......
All the things I did wrong - but it worked! LOL
How did the OC report a collection?
An OC is only a debt collector under very rare/limited circumstances.
I would assume that the only reporting was of an internal collection on the debt, not a formal collection........

i have done this with 3 OC's.
you get feel how people are while talking to them, i had one that swore they would get it deleted, but something just didnt seem right, asked them for a simple email saying so, and well im still waiting for that email, i simply moved them to the last on my list to get settled is all.
