Trying this again....please Help.

I attempted to fix mine and my husband's CR last September when I found this forum.  With a teenager, 2 toddlers and a high stress job, I couldn't keep up. So here I am today, completely dedicated, have saved the funds to tackle this once and for all. I switched my job and now work 2 days a week so I can concentrate on our finances and get us into our dream home this year!!! I had a mentor here. I forgot his name. :smileysad: If you see this and remember me, PLEEAAASE pm me again.

My CO's:

Chase judgement $2076

HSBC $904

People's Lending $1430

Univ of Phonex $455

Account Recovery $102

My husband's CO's

LVNV (used to be HSBC/Bestbuy)  $4143

RBS $620 (stated past due on CR)

I was going to start by calling them and asking for PFD. Should I do that? I'm trying to pay these ASAP. I have some money saved, but I want to do this the quickest way it'll get my scores up. Please help!

We also have a 2nd mortgage that was charged off by America's Sevicing Company. This happened without my knowledge. I modified our 1st and 2nd mortgage 2 years ago. I sent all the paper work, my 1st morgage is modified and we're on time. So I thought our 2nd was too until I pulled a CR last year and found out it was CO. I attempted numerous times and tried to get some answers. THey couldn't tell me who owned the 2nd mortgage, and they said that they couldn't modify anymore. I felt like a dog chasing my own tail. So I got a lawyer last year. Well someone finally responded from Wells Fargo. She asked me to submit financials, which I did. I asked for a settlement or to revive the loan to make it current again. They denied us! So basically, we're stuck in limbo in regards to that.

Re: Trying this again....please Help.

I just printed out a DV letter to LVNV. I know I'm supposed to send it CMRRR. But the address is a PO box. What do I do then?

Re: Trying this again....please Help.

Above all else, I would get that judgment paid or set up some sort of arrangement with them.  The last thing you need is a wage garnishment.  Plus after it is satisfied you could possibly have it vacated if your state allows it.

Yes, by all means, if you want to do a PFD, call them and ask.

Is the LVNV for the same HSBC you have listed or are they two separate accounts?

What is the DoFD of each of these?  Are they outside the suing SOL for your state?

If the CMRRR goes to a PO Box they still have to sign for it.

Re: Trying this again....please Help.

HSBC was the OC, then was sold to LVNV.

How can I tell DoFD on my CR? It's the report my lender pulled? It says: Date opened, "DLA" (I don't know what that means), Date reported. How do I find out DoFD?

So with the judgement, should I contact the lawyer that sent me a letter? Do I still need to send a DV for the judgement?

Re: Trying this again....please Help.

You can send a DV for the judgment but if you know it is yours you do not have to.  It would be best to do something so nothing else happens.

Get your reports from the CRAs.  That is the only way you will know what the DoFD is.  Or call the CRAs and ask them.

DLA is date of last activity and can mean numerous things.  It has no bearing on when something will be excluded.

Re: Trying this again....please Help.

baby steps, I would first get that judgement taken care of, then start asking for PFD and settlements. If they dont accept PFD then settle the account then start GWing. Good Luck!!! update with any progress

Re: Trying this again....please Help.

Guiness, will it be sufficient enough if I pull my CR from here (myfico.com) or should I pull them from each of their websites?

Re: Trying this again....please Help.

I'll do that! I will call the lawfirm in regards to the judgement asap! Thanks!

Okay, so ask for PFD first, then GW letters. In regards to GW letters, can i send one to my student loan lender? They recently posted on my CR that I was 60 days late. I just asked them for forebearance.

Re: Trying this again....please Help.

The reports directly from the CRAs are much more detailed than the ones from a 3rd party.

You can send a GW letter to anyone.  And if they say no, keep trying, find someone else in the chain to send it too.

If you get a PFD, it will be deleted after payment.
