Re: Trying to build my credit, not a easy task

Honestly, the first thing I would do is to take the cellphones and shut down the lines, although, depending on the cancellation fee, shutting down the lines may not be feasible. There are several good threads around, especially in the rebuilding section, that could be very helpful for you. Goodwill letters would be a start. Also, remember that if you pay any of the collection, it becomes your debt, so either don't pay anything or pay it all conditioned on removal of the ilne from your report.

Good luck!

Yea the phone are cancelled now,am sure the amounts include termination fees, and I will pay them but still won't come off for seven years which is a bummer, that mark is the only thing on my credit, that I see.

If you are below a 500 TU score (walmart) I am guessing there are a few other things on your credit report...  You might want to seriously look into it, unless you basically had no credit prior to T-Mobile.. That score just sounds to low for 3 collections in my opinion...   It can stay on your credit for 7.5 years, but usually has less impact over time...  As others has stated agree to pay them off if you can get a PFD (pay for delete) if possible or if you decide to pay them after you pay them then write GW Good-Will letters to them asking them to remove the negative history from your credit report ..  You can google that and find alot of information or go to the rebuilding section on this forum and find alot of example and explanation of what those entail and templates etc.

sorry to hear about your denial but are you sure the score Walmart sent you was actually a true Fico score? I remember them using internal scores at times when it came to denials. If it acutally is a true fico score then like many have suggested then do work on getting those collections paid for deletion. If else nothing works then time will be your friend and eventually those baddies will fall off and you will be able to go up from there. Many of us have gone through the same thing so dont feel alone.

Don't let it get to you.  That is why this forum is here.  You can raise your scores and get better cards than Walmart.  Like other people have said, get the collection off and any other things in the report.  Never ever be late for a payment.  Keep your utilization down.  If it possible, get another secured card.  All the companies want to see is that you are trying although you don't have a perfect score and one of them will will take a chance on you. What exactly is in your credit report?  For us to really help, give us an idea of what is in it....  It will get better.  Hang in there.

Re: Trying to build my credit, not a easy task

If you have no revolving lines, then you need to open an account with SDFCU, or other CU, and get a secured card. With low 500 scores you're just beating your head against the wall apping for unsecured cards.
