Trying to rebuild but need HELP!!

I am in the process of trying to help rebuild my husband's credit but I feel like I have gotten stuck. He currently only has a few things reporting open and positive on his report. A credit card that he is AU on through me, a loan that he got from our CU, and our current car payment (all of which are open and never have been late)

Now he does have quite a few baddies (9 to be exact I believe) we have a little money to the side to use to hopefully do some PFD but have come up short on that end. Hoping that someone here could lend me some advice to help me know where to go from here!

AutoTrakk $585- he had a voluntary surrender and this is what remains for this. I have not reached out to them regarding this yet.
First premier $547- every time I attempt to call them I am redirected then hung up on.
Convergent Outsourcing $1,121 - they say that the do not offer PFD
Midland funding $788, $886, 1,152- I know that they will automatically delete after 2 years if paid or settled in full. Only one of these accounts maybbe at the two year mark. The others won't be until May 2019.
Portfolio recovery $263 - they say no PFD just paid in full
Transworld $427- no PFD
Verizon wireless $2684- this is from when we transferred services a while back we did not return the phones 😩😩 bad decisions. It is still with them but hoping to maybe do a payment arrangement or settlement. I haven't read of people having luck with them for PFD.

What should my next steps be? I am really trying to get him in the right direction without having to utilize a credit repair agency so any help that you could offer would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks for reading!!

Well using a credit repair agency will only get one so far and tbh is a complete waste of money and may not get you the results in the end. You can continue to try getting everything taken care of by offering for PFD or if you are short on cash, you can try to settle and then send GW letters requesting removal of the negative information they reported. If midland is going to remove after two years (assuming that the account is 2 years old), then you could try settling those. If you dont know where to start in regards to paying, start with the lowest debt and move up from there. You can either PIF or settle (or continue trying to do a PFD but you might be better off paying if they dont do PFD then send GW letters after say a month or two from submitting payment).

I don't know much about phones but can you sell them and put the money towards what you owe?
