Trying to remove Collection to find out what step or not to take for now.

My SO others reports looks like this.

Boa Secured 0/500 1yr 3 mo.

Citi Secured 4/200 2 year 6mo

Indigo CC     0/ 300 2 years    1-30 date late from 1 year ago. (not sure if goodwill letter will work)

self loan       0/500  2 years

Kohls AU       0/3k   14 years

Macys AU        0/5k    13 years

Citi AU             0/8k       6 years

Citi AU             0 10k      5 years

TU- 640 - EX - 658  2-INQ each none in last year

Negative- 1 Duke Energy Collection for $140 that his brother opened

without permission while in college . I dont know if i should just pay if it off

or report it as fraud. ( i dont want to get his brother in trouble)

How hard is it to remove Duke Energy without a police report? they wont PFD

If i can get the collection removed. What card should be appllied for?

If i just pay it off how much will it affect me as its only 1 year old.

Paying a collection offers offers no score benefit except on version 9. If it’s not removed, it doesn’t help.

@Anonymous How long ago did this happen? What's the statue of limitations for fraud in your jurisdiction?

If it's been awhile, years, it's likely the statue of limitations has passed for what he did. If that's the case, you can probably report it and get the police report and have it removed as fraud, as it actually was, without having to worry about any negative effects to him either.

Consult the laws, and qualified counsel if you're in doubt.

Re: Trying to remove Collection to find out what step or not to take for now. (DECIEDED)

its from 2018 so thats a long wait.

I've deciced that I'm gonna go ahead and report it as fraud.

I might be forgotfull regarding who it could be.

I realized that with this cc history that this

would keep me out of prime cards for 5-6 years.

Vs without it where I can get prime discover and citi cards ( since ive had there citi secured for 2 1/2years and 2- AU citi CC 5 and 6  yr history just added last month

I think it would unfair for me not remove collection and pay more intrest on auto loans, mortgages, other things i

could get 0% on a item i might decied to buy. lose cash bonuses, airline credit, free hotel etc

What do u think of this?

Me not having the best memorey while filing a report is

the way I can jusitfy it, better odds  for him. if not

ill feel bad but it cant that be bad for a utility bill for 200

After I go threw the report and get it removed.

my question is:

Boa Secured 0/500 1yr 3 mo.

Citi Secured 4/200 2 year 6mo

Indigo CC 0/ 300 2 years 1-30 date late from 1 year ago. (not sure if goodwill letter will work)

self loan 026/500 2 years

Kohls AU 0/3k 14 years

Macys AU 0/5k 13 years

Citi AU 0/8k 6 years

Citi AU 0 /6k 5 years

my score before the collection showed

TU-728  EX-721   2-inq on each

I've been gardring for a while hoping

My citi or BOA would graduate.

My Goal Apps in 3-6months

 Discover IT - Citi Simplicty

(What are my Chances? Im sure i can get dico idk know about citi ive had citi secured over 2 years now but do 2 CITI AU reporting last 2mo

If i can get them both approved then i would

be in the Prime Cards and grow from there.

Then apply 1-2 cards a year for the rewards and cashback

Is the paypal mc 1.5% with synch?

I'm thinking to wait up to 6 months if i have to:

-If either the BoA or Citi graduate

-The Citi secured will turn 3 years old ( Oldest card in just my name)

Also considering changing the kohls AU to kolhs Joint Account

I talked to a rep and there just gonna mail a form to send back,

This will automatically will be my oldest accout 14 years with perfect payment history

I hear Credit Anaylst don't really count AU account's but with joint status

they look at it like a regular account

If it works out, i'll hope it goes with

Discover it CC, citi simiplicy CC, SSL Loan 48-60mo or Self 24mo

then Garden 1 - 1.5years

That's a lot to answer, let me take it piece by piece. No one can tell you what you remember, so.... And statue of limitations can be as low as two or three years depending on the state. Can't hurt to check.

your score will be in pretty good shape once you get that collection removed, an isolated 30 day late is not gonna hurt you that bad, but try to Goodwill.

PayPal is 2%. That's true, if you become joint, it's a full-fledged account with a accompaning history. Shame it's a store account though, that brings down your insurance scores, especially it being the oldest by far. I had the same problem.

You get that collection off, you're going to be doing pretty good and a little more age can always help!
