Ok so by checking my experian credit report I noticed that I had a collection account from a I C systems collection agency, original creditor being tmobile. Seeing that the total was only $136 I decided to pay the collection agency thinking that this will remove the collection account from my credit report. Today I called I C systems to get a time frame of when the collection account would be removed as they told me that they update their records every Sunday. I was told that they didn't remove it that instead I had to dispute it through the credit bureau, to show them the receipt I got from them to get it delete it. So when trying to dispute it through experian I don't have the option as it says that it's been paid but closed. So I'm guessing it'll show as paid but will not get delete it?
Also, today I pulled up my Transunion credit report and the collection agency that I paid comes up and also a different agency names Amsher Collection Services for the same bill from tmobile. I called them to get it removed as I had already paid another agency but they told me that they no longer have the account that it was sent to a lawyers office. I called the lawyers office and they told me that Tmobile took it back. Right now I'm currently talking to someone at Tmobile as I type this. They say that tmobile sold my account to I C systems, the one I paid.
My questions is, if the second collection agency no longer has this collection account, shouldn't they be obligated to remove the collection account from my credit report?
How can I get both of them deleted if I already payed the amount in full?
What kind of letter can I send?
I'm trying to repair my credit to apply for a mortgage. I would REALLY appreciate any helpful advice I can get. First post by the way, sorry it's soo long. I had posted this earlier but I think it was under the wrong section.
Thank you!
