Update on my situation and ANOTHER question

So I did what was suggested and called Target (which is showing on my report but doesn't seem to have been sold to a CA). Anyhoo, they said that I will need to contact the CA. So, I will call them again tomorrow to speak to someone else. Wish me luck. I just want to see something change for me concerning my credit situation.

Also I was able to send off the Pre-Hippa letters (CMRRR) today!! Sending it this way is EXPENSIVE....lol But oh so worth it.... Wish me luck on that as well.

So, here is my question...I have no positive items on my CR's and I want to see something that will possibly help me. I was thinking about applying for a CROWN JEWELRY credit card. What do you all think about this? Is it a good ideal?

Thanks in advance!!!!

Re: Update on my situation and ANOTHER question

I am sure you could get a CJ since they go on your income and not credit report.  However, you must purchase from them before it will be posted on your CR.

Re: Update on my situation and ANOTHER question

I think its a great idea!

I don't know how much info you have gotten from their website, but basically like the previous poster said, they go off of your income. I was just approved this morning for the card w/ a $2500 CL. In six months they do drop it down though once your CL becomes "zero down" instead of "down payment reqd" however it appears you can keep it to $1500 if your monthly payments are $75+.

Re: Update on my situation and ANOTHER question

I went ahead and applied to Crown last night.  I got the 24 hour response, which was expected.  I will go ahead and buy an item to start the ball rolling with showing something other than collections, judgement and negativity on my reports.  I also was wondering what you all think aobut also adding a secured visa or mastercard as well.  That will not happen until next month if it makes sense to do.  My main focus is to keep the little money I have to pay off these smaller medical bills and then to go onto the credit cards that are in collections.

Re: Update on my situation and ANOTHER question

UPDATE: I received a approval email from Crown Jewelry for $2500. I will decide what I want to buy tomorrow to set the ball rolling with this account getting onto my CR's.

I also called TARGET again and was told the same thing....contact the CA. I asked if I need to contact the CA, why were they still reporting the account on my CR with a balance and the CA's NOT on my CR....no real answer. But she was nice.....

Re: Update on my situation and ANOTHER question

On Target...........if you can PIF and the OC isn't going to accept payment, I would send a modified PFD letter to the CA. Instead of a PFD, send a pay for not reporting letter.

On CJ Card..........remember, this card only reports to TU and EX, not EQ.

I have never seen a modified PFD. I guess if I tweak the original PFD that will work, right?

Is it good enough that CJ only reports to the two. I was also wondering for when I get my credit in order and its time to add additional credit, is there a place that can tell which companies pull from each CRA?

Yes

It will only affect the ones it reports to. So, you will get no benefit on EQ from the card. Just wanted to make you aware of that.

CB or WGMC. You can also post over on the credit card forums and get answers. I've called creditors and asked before as well.
