Use letters from CA's to speed up deletion?

I have several letters from CA's that state (on letterhead) that they are deleting accounts from all 3 bureaus. Can I use these to speed up deletion with CRAs? Not PFD - they were result of disputes.

Nope you cannot and will likely get the CA in trouble as they are not supposed to do that and it will make less agencies acceptable to PFD.

Then I shall wait. Thanks for the info. I suppose the CRAs can't tell it's not a PFD.

I've had the letters for a few weeks now and they say to allow up to 60 days for deletion. If this doesn't happen during that time frame what would be the next steps?

Yes. These are not Pay for Delete deletions. The letters state they have "concluded its investigation of your dispute and is closing your account." They "filed a Universal Data Form electronically requesting that the three major credit reporting agencies delete" their "tradeline for this account on your credit reports".

If you filed a direct dispute and they have reported that they are deleting, then they are requrired under FCRA 623(a)(2) to "prompltly" report to the CRA.

There is no set period in days or weeks.  Their next regular reporting cycle would usually be considered as meeting the requried reporing.

The CRA will not delete based on communication from the consumer.  They will only delete based on notice from the furnisher.

I would wait a bit longer as it takes time, from the time the info is sent, to how long it takes the bureaus to update. If for some reason the time comes and goes without change, then you can take more action.
