Ok so just sent payment in to my cc to get utilization down to 9% on the cards I have (2)..my question is that I was on my brothers hsbc/bestbuy card as an AU and he's carrying a 800 balance on a 900 limit with 18 months history (I know I know) It was only reporting to TU and EX I have asked both to remove me and he also took me off the card as an AU. Was that a bad Idea? Also I went from 84% util with all 3 cards to 9% with just mine, if they continue to include his its like 51-52%.
Util % is about 30% of your scoring, is that AU card bringing up or down your AAoA....
you will more then likely benefit from dropping the AU account....
Need more information though.
my avg age of acct is good 4.4 5.6 and 5.6 I have student loans still reporting for 22 yrs..lol and a jcp card doing the same thing..both closed mind you but still reporting..I didn't think it was really creating a AAOA issue which is why I decided to jump ship on that.
ahh then i would have him remove you as an AU, that high util is hurting you!
pretty much my thoughts...my 2 CC are only 3 months old and I have a new car loan reporting 1 payment...but I also have a car loan pd nvr late from 08 and a couple other things like sallie mae...current but was late (forebearence fell off didn't tell me) and its over the loan amount 4999 bal 5411 which I know is hurting me (next project). just need to get my scores from hovering around the 615/618 ish area..from what I read it wont give me the increase as if I had 3-4 cards but should get a bump.
lowering your util should be good.
Ok so my cap 1 card shows a 7% balance and low and behold my score went up 21 pts on eq but dropped on TU?...finally past the 618ish area I've been hovering!!! Thank you all for the advice!!!! never thought I would see my score get this high in a 4 months of working on it.
