Vacated judgment, unable to open card.

In Nov '12 I purchased my first car. In January Midland Funding filed a lawsuit against me. I did a bunch of googling, asked questions, got tired and hired a lawyer. I did not open the credit card (was under 18 at the time of the opening), made no payments, and did not know about the card. The judge issued a vacated judgment in my favor in May '13. June '13 I see that maybe Cypress Financial filed something, but the court record is blank. It just has the date and the name of the plaintiff and defendant. Would Midland have sold the debt to Cypress?

Anyway, in 2014 I opened a new CC with Barclays. In 2015 I opened an AMEX.

The debt from 2005/07 (? Can't remember exactly) was from chase bank I think. I will have to ask my mom about the records from court. during this time I also put a freeze on my credit and reported ID Theft. Last week I tried to open a Chase CC but was denied due to bad blood with the bank. I called to ask what this was about and they said they see that i filed a fraud alert but that their fraud dept determined it was my debt and sent it to collections. I can't remember if the lady said it was 3900 or 5500. The MF case was for 3900. I don't see anything on my credit report and my credit score is 812.

I guess it's not a significant problem that chase doesn't want to work with me but is there anything I can do? The chase rep only told me that they sold the account to EAF. I don't know when or if this is something new.

Re: Vacated judgment, unable to open card.

Sorry, what?

I tried opening a credit card with Chase. The only Chase info I see on my account is a card for $2000 with a high balance of $144 that was paid in full and closed by the creditor. Probably for non usage. I don't see any write or charge offs.

When I was being sued by Midland I hired a lawyer and the judgement was vacated because Midland didn't have any evidence and also it wasn't my account. My mom thinks the collections was from Chase but she is checking the documents at home. I no longer live with her. There are no derogatory remarks on my credit report so I want to know what I can do to get a card opened with Chase

Re: Vacated judgment, unable to open card.

You can try writing a letter to the CEO of Chase. Explain that it was fraud and that you were still a minor. Let them know you would like to establish a relationship with them. Offer to provide any documentation they may want etc. Make the letter personal and sincere.

Thank you. I'll do that. Is that type of info listed in this forum?

Re: Vacated judgment, unable to open card.

You don't want a form letter. See if you can find the CEO'S information thru Google and then explain to him everything that happened in the past and current.

Why does Chase feel you are responsible? Did you know the person that opened the account in your name?
