Verizon landline-suit or judgment

Hi everyone,

I just received an alert from Equifax saying I have a suit or judgment from Verizon now reporting. It say to contact the courts if this is in error.  But I have no idea what court or whom to contact. I did sent Verizon a DV letter in Jan09 I did receive the green card back so I know they had received it.  But, I have never received anything regarding a suit or judgment nor did they verify.  I know that they have  my address because I called them a year ago trying to take care of this. They stated it was sold to a CA and could not except a payment. But wasn't sure who the CA was. It was for $104.00.  I have lived at the same address for almost three years and the bill is from 2005. Can they file suit on me and not inform me. How do I go about taking care of this. I'll take any suggestion!!!! I have been working hard at cleaning up my credit, so far I have gotten 6 medicals deleted, my cc are now at $0. Two other collection PFD,  I only had two collection left, Verizon is one of them. Looking to buy a house in a couple of months so I need figure this one out!  Thanks Terry

Oh, I should mention that Verizon is the only one reporting on my CR. There is no CA reporting at all.

Not all lenders require a collection to be deleted. Sometimes they might require you to pay it. Congrats on getting the med collections removed.

Re: Verizon landline-suit or judgment

Thanks fused!!! And Thanks for your response!!! I realize not all leader require collection to be deleted, but a suit or judgement will bring my score down. I checked Experian and it doesn't show a suit or judgement on there from Verizon. But, Equifax sent me an alert saying I had a suit or judgement showing on my Experian. My question is; How do I find out what court reported the suit or judgement so I can fight this? Can I fight this??? I was never notified, I also have the green card to prove I was disputing and asking for verification. I did try to pay Verizon about a year ago but they wouldn't except my payment, they said it had been turned over to a CA but, at the time couldn't tell me what CA I would be dealing with. My other question is can they file a suit or judgement with out notifing me?  Thanks again for your response!!! I
