Hello,
I have a collection account with Waypoint Resource Group and they say they will not delete this account if I pay in full. It was initially reported in FEbrary 2018 and it's been a year with them already. I was hoping that it would get sold to another CA, so that I can dispute them and have it deleted and then pay the other CA. Has anyone had a Waypoint collection for more than a year? If it was sold to another CA, how long did it take?
I did find a thread recently that someone did pay and after they paid they disputed the balance with the credit reporting agencies and Waypoint didnt argue and these got deleted. However, I'm afraid to to this. I dont want to risk having these on my records for years. Has anyone else done this and had success?
Any help is much appreciated!!
Thank you!!!!!
A CRA has no legal obligation to forward a dispute to the furnisher of the disputed information if the dispute lacks a legit basis supporting an assertion of inaccuracy. Thus, I would not reply upon a frivolous dispute as basis for mandating referral to and response by the furnisher.
CRA policy clearly states that payment of a debt is not basis for deletion of reported information.
The CRA can dismiss a dispute without any need to refer to the debt collector or to conduct any investigation or reinvestigation if it lacks any assertion of reporting inaccuracy or incompleteness.
Hi,
Did they ever remove it? I have also paid the account and they are having me contact Comcast to contact them and give them the approval to delete from my credit report? I was under the impression that they owned the debt, but they say they just work the collection for them and then hand it back...
Trying to get some direction...from what they say this collection if from an account from January 2013...but they just started reporting it to my credit report in August of 2018...I can't have this on my report for that long at all.
Hi just wondering if you ever tried this method and what the end result was. Thank you in advance!
