I recently paid off a collection with out trying to negotiate a PFD (didn't know at the time about PFD). The CSR originally told me that paying it off would increase my credit score. I found out later this is not true.
Today I called, asked to speak with a supervisor, and she told me a few weird things. She told me that the company cannot delete collections if they have been posted since 2005. Then I told her mfFICO.com told me CAs can delete them. Then she said they don't have to delete them. I said I realize this - I am asking you to. Then she said they wouldn't but suggested I dispute with the CRAs!?
Does this make any sense? Should I dispute with the CRAs? won't the CA just verify?Should I write a GW? Who do I write it to and what should I say?
Is there any reason for you to dispute with the CRAs?
