When are the drop off dates?

Hello; I'm including information on four negative debts. What I want to is, where does it say what the date is when the debts fall off?

I obtained an Experian credit report. It said:

• Real Estate Debt: $0.00
• Installment Debt: 1,399.00
• Revolving Debt: 790.00
• Other Debt: 0.00
• Total Debt: 2,441.00
Credit Score:
Score Rank: 549. Very Low.

I have been on this forum for a month. I must get my credit score higher. I don't want to call the original lenders for fear that my contacting them will reactivate the delinquency and or harm my credit score. I live in California.I had a stroke, my house was foreclosed.
Please help me. I've read and read, but I don't know how to start and what to do.
Thank you,
Jim Holland

Re: When are the drop off dates?

i am new here too, jim, so i am not an expert, but from what i'm understanding is the drop off date will be about 7.5 years after the date of final delinquency. i don't know where to find it on your report, but i'm sure someone else who knows more than me can assist.

i believe the SOL in california is 4 years though, so 4 years after your last payment is when they cannot sue you for the money.

just wanted to say welcome. i need to repair my credit as well. i am sorry about your hard times, i will send good thoughts your way.

Re: When are the drop off dates?

DOFD=Date of First Delinquency

It's the date reported on your credit reports as the first date accounts are reported as delinquent. Obtain a credit report directly from the actual credit reporting agencies. If you've been denied credit, work, etc, contact the agency listed in your denial letter. It's free. Not sure where you pulled this info from.

7 years + up to 180 days from the DOFD will be your drop off date.

Re: When are the drop off dates?

If you can get your CRs directly from the CRAs, they show the dates better than any other source.

If you can use annualcreditreport.com, the EQ report will show DoFD, and TU will show the expected date it will roll off.

DoFD, the Date of First Delinquency, is the 30 day late leading to the CO or collection that was not made current again.  A CO usually takes 6 months, so you would see a 30 day, then a 60, then a 90, and a 120, etc until it is a CO.  The history is shown on some of the CRs you can see.

Re: When are the drop off dates?

This is from my EQuifax report:

It shows that I had a car repo (a CO) and DoFD is 3/2009.

Re: When are the drop off dates?

Individual adverse items of information become excluded based on the type of the adverse item (e.g., monthly delinquency, charge-off, collection, judgment), as set forth in FCRA 605(a).  It iis not "debt" that falls off, it is adverse items of information that become excluded.

DOFD applies only to a reported collection or charge-off, and sets the begin date of the 7 years plus 180 day maximum exclusion periof for that type of adverse item.

Any monthly delineuqncies would have their own exclusion dates of 7 years from the date of the delinqquency.

Thus, the specific adverse items preported on each account must be specified in order to provide an exclusion date for that item.
