Re: Why does everyone else get approved?

How long does it usually take to get that Cap One card in the mail?  it's only been about a week, but I can't recall if they gave me a timeline, or not.

I received my card exactly 2 weeks after I applied. I went ahead and paid my deposit the same day and it took about a week to draft out of my bank account and a few days later I got an email telling me that my account had been created and the next day I got an email saying my card had been mailed and I got it the following day.

Why does it seem like EVERYONE else but me can get approved for cards?  I was checking people who got approved for Kay jwelers in Michigan-  many of them had a LOWER score than more- more judgments and collections showing and they were approved-  yet I was DENIED with a 640 score on the one they checked- and more than sufficient income...  SO FRUSTRATED.

I feel your frustration when I read on here of people who claim to have very little credit history (less than 6 months) saying they were approved for this or that credit card.  I have NO FICO® SCORE and won't have until I've completed 6 FULL months of credit history using my SECURED credit cards -- no one is extending any unsecured credit my way!!!  So, bruiseviolet, I hear you!

Don't believe everything you read.  It may seem like everyone is getting approved because more people like to talk about the positives rather than the negatives (rejected).

Re: Why does everyone else get approved?

I think we should start a DENIED thread. Not really bringing any negativity to the board, just making light of a bad situation.

It would be humbling, that's for sure.

I agree! I also think it would be helpful to let other people know that they are not alone!

I have a big stack of denials too.  Maybe we should start comparing how big our binders are?  I should really take a photo of mine.  LOL it's one of those 4" binders- and it's starting to rip- it's busting at the seams... LOL
