Working on GW letters..Should I put...

I am using some of the samples from the site and was wondering if it would be so "pity-party" or just unnecessary to put tht I am a single mom trying to buy a house.

Re: Working on GW letters..Should I put...

This is kind of what I was thinking of sending via email...

I am writing this letter in order to request your help and
understanding. I currently have insurance through my employer. I had some
medical issues and needed care in 2011. I did not have insurance during that
time. I then did not have the funds to take care of the accounts. Your company
was hired by JCMH to collect on these accounts. I pulled my credit and saw them
on my reports. I paid all the accounts as soon as I could, which was 03/12/2013.
I am a single mother of two currently trying to buy our first.  The accounts are showed “Paid” but still are collection accounts and hurting my credit scores. I only need 20 more points to qualify for the loan. I would like to request that your company have some mercy on me and please make a “Goodwill Adjustment” and remove all three accounts from the credit reporting agencies. Your kind gesture would be sincerely appreciated by my family and myself. I would like to thank you in advance for any help you may provide. You may contact me through my address above or email at

Just a bit of proofreading above....I think it's fine to say you are a single mom trying to get your finances in order to provide a home for you and your kids.

Re: Working on GW letters.Should I put...

May be silly but what subject should I put?  I don't want to put "goodwill adjustment" and take a chance on it not even being opened!
