Re: Beware of collections (NOT OC) showing up on Credit Reports as a OPEN Credit Type - Part 2

Portfolio recovery updates every month, but this month I notice on my transunion CK report it now reports as a closed collection? I'm still within sol so I'm not sure what this is about...

Sorry, was reading on my phone and it seems it goes berserk and posts blank messages. Please disregard, won't let me delete.

Re: beware of collection accounts reporting as a Open TYPE Tradeline

Hi,

I have checked my husbands report on Credit Karma and Quizzle and I've checked mine, he has a few collection accounts that are reporting in collections under status as open and I have one.  We each have Portfolio Recovery.  Although the accounts with PR have JUST got to the SOL for collection in Louisiana and I know they can't sue, I don't want to open that can of worms either because today is the SOL for one and June 1 and 12 were the other SOL dates for collection to end.

Collection agencies doing this are:

Jefferson Cap Sys - License revoked in Louisiana so collecting illegally!

Portfolio Recovery (on transunion twice, Equifax once)
Calvary
ENHANCED RECOVERY COMPANY (Sprint)

MIDLAND FUNDING LLC
SYNERPRISE (Medical)

Can anyone tell me exactly what to do to get these removed???  I always wondered why the status said open instead of closed.  It also reports monthly  I don't mind sending an letter or an email, I just really want these off our accounts!

Question is if these are removed, can't they be added back with status closed????  How do we keep them off??

Thank you so much for any help in how to word the letter, email for disputing without opening us up for being sued or getting slapped in the face.

Re: beware of collection accounts reporting as a Open TYPE Tradeline

Hi there, the first thing I would do is get your printed reports directly from the credit reporting agencies.

The reason I say this is because any other view especially online is ..in my experience...incomplete and also may have views layered on them online that can distort what you think you are seeing. Experian's product online, and transunion do not show enough detail.

After that is done, pay close attention to equifax, first as that report will have the most information.

If you can scan/photo and share ....I can try and help based on my progress so far.

It's the combination of data that is there, that will help find the issues. If you can .... Equifax has a trial membership...sign up get the report and then cancel.

Please share an update

Re: beware of collection accounts reporting as a Open TYPE Tradeline

Thank you!  I will do just that!  I appreciate the help.  Can't wait to see if we can get them removed, would be fantastic!

Also if they are removed, what do we do to make them stay kicked off???

Re: beware of collection accounts reporting as a Open TYPE Tradeline

Try and get the printed reports from all 3, or get Equifax online to start with.

What you see online in the non CRA credit  sites can be distorted and I would not rely on that.

Karma shows Eq and TU, but, lack the details that are imbedded in the reports and those details (data) mean the most.

Re: beware of collection accounts reporting as a Open TYPE Tradeline

Ok --- so here's my current update for BOA and Asset Acceptance.

1. Filed Complaint with CFBP for ALL three agencies, and against AA and BOA

2. AA actually replied, disavowing any knowledge - letter previous posted, but I take that with a grain of salt because whoever built that METRO2 file for them, had to have tested it with all Agencies as part of their technical develooment activities as that, is simply normal.

3. That letter from AA, is a leverage point for all otheractivities though, as their Attorney who drafted the letter, lays the blame squarely on the CRA. So if they can point fingers at eachother, I have simply proved my point. The data is bad, masked to mimic a tradeline - credit grantor account, and needs to be removed.

4. Equifax tried to start fixing the Original Creditor Account -  BOA, but --- f'd up royaly by manually updating my account - and it crashed my scores by 60 points, and - in one day. I immediately opened another CFBP complaint, and sent a letter to Eq, sharing that I watched what they did - and BOA - is still pending. See the changes below.

5. Ex - simply Deleted BOA - I barked enough, but -- AA is still open and no changes are visable - yet.

6. TU - so far is the best of the bunch, and they replied and updated within a week.

I am still meeting with my attorney, seems as though it only takes 2 complaints to a CRA, to start the ball rolling. Whats important to not is that Eq - will actually show you more history when an alert is provided on an account. Share a ton more detail than they probrably want you to see.

1.  AA on Equifax - please look at the earlier posts for the original account details. see the history.

2.  They PAY status is updated to NR - but, there is still no closed date and from the alert message in EQ's online tool

3.  I can now see the PAY status as 120 days past due --- which a collection account can never be,

4.  That "Collection Account" Status can't be assigned to a Debt Collector

5.  And when does a Debt Collector ever become a Retail Credit Account

6. The first view is from 6/19 when they inserted a CO in my record, trying to fix this account --- its not working by the way.

BOA

6/19 - Credit Doomsday, they jacked my record up by inserting a CO in June of 2015.
