Ok so can someone tell me why our mortgage with Midland is showing closed/derog and $0 balance on pur credit reports if we kept our home during our chapter 7 bk? All payments are up to date and never late, don't understand it reporting as a closed account?

I am also seeing accounts showing open and on payment plan even though the amount is showing $0 and it should also say Chapt 7 which is doesn't.

The debt was discharged along with your other debts so it techincally is non existent so they cant report on it. Many companies will not report and in fact report it closed even if its been reaffirmed. As long as you pay if you get to keep the asset that is mortgaged.

What you want with discharged TLs is 0 balance IIB.

Right but what bothers me is that we reaffirmed and mortgage is in good standing so having the positive remarks/reporting would be good for our credit reports so after we are discharged, if the mortgage company stops reporting the good activity this will cause an issue when we decide to sell our house which we plan on doing in the future at some point so we can buy another.

Midland and PRA are not in the collections area on Equifax, they are with the original "Credit Card Accounts" section.  They also have a payment history and have gone up, up, up with each month they've reported.

What can I do to dispute and get them removed????

Is it possible you can post the accounts from the CRA's?

It would help to see the original EQ report.

Add your image to photobook or any image storage site and copy the link here.  Add it to the image symbol above.

Re: beware of collection accounts reporting as a Open TYPE Tradeline

After 5 months, AALLC is all gone from ALL, and because of the way that BOA - the OC - was reporting, it has been deleted from EX and now TU.

One last mountain to climb with EQ, but that's what the world is made of.

It is truly sad that they act like predators, and win becaue they believe this country does not know.

Congrats!! Glad it worked out for you. I have a CFPB complaint open right now against Midland and Portfolio for this exact reason.  Anxiously waiting the outcome. Congrats again!

So let me get this clear! In NO way should a collection account's status read "open", and the original creditor's trade line should read "0 balance " and sold? Correct? Layman's terms would be appreciated.
