card not received in mail

a friend applied for a Victoria's Secret card and was approved but never received the card in the mail. Per the credit report, it's not reporting with any balance. It's just sitting there open. the friend doesn't care if he gets the card or not. Can they let this account just sit on credit or will there be an unintended consequence. it's just showing as a positive account with no payment history.

For security reasons, it will be best to call and see where the card was actually shipped.

When I received my VS credit card I had to call and activate it.  I would suggest you giving them a call to see where that card is at.

Thank you for the wealth of knowledge I have learned from these forums. I am logging off as of November 9, 2022. I wish everyone great success.

Re: card not received in mail

Activation is only a security measure to ensure you receive the card, and activate at your known phone number..  The account was open when it was approved by the creditor.

If the account has reported, it is affecting your AAoA and % util.

With minimal age, it is hurting your AAoA, but with no balance, it is helping your % util.

If unused for a period of time, they may close it.
