has anyone ever had success on getting a negative child support tradeline deleted from their reports. just wondering if this is possible once the state starts reporting it

What is the reason why it should be deleted?

the same reason why people get charge offs, lates, non payment deleted off their reports. to clean it up

Let me re-phrase.... is there some inaccuracy in its reporting, or is the path one of seeking GW deletion?

In most cases, the party reporting negative information to a CRA wont entertain requests for GW deletion until the debt has been satisfied.

Assuming their reporting was based on some administrative or legal action compelling ongoing payment, it might be tough to convince them to delete the record of their action.

Additionally, governmental agencies have no concern with building consumer good-will for the purpose of securing your future business, so their motivation to do so is not the same as that of a commercial creditor.

Give it a go, but the circumstances dont seem to indicate high probability.

I was successful in doing this on all 3 reporting agencies. I have had an order of child support for 13 years now and it is taken from my paycheck weekly. The way RI does their child support, they come up with a weekly number of what needs to be paid and multiply it by 52. From there, they divide by 12 and that is your monthly obligation. As I get it taken out every week, the numbers do not always add up and they were always reporting me as late in stupid amounts. If you follow the math, you will see why. Judge ordered payment of 207 per week. This equates to 897.00 per month. Well I get paid every Thursday so in February, I had 4 pay days. So I paid the State of RI $828.00. Since they were expecting 897, they would have reported me as 30 days late with a past due balance of $69.00 but in March, I have 5 pay days, so they were sent $1035.00(An overage). Since RI reports in every month, I would show up as ok that month and there was nothing I could do with the State to get this resolved. Every couple months, I would get a notification that I had a negative appearance on my credit report. After speaking with a lawyer about it, he advised me to simply challenge the reporting with all 3 CRAs. The logic behind it was that the State will not even report back in time and the line item would have to be removed from my credit report.(And they can not put it back on) about 31 days after the challenge, I got alerts like crazy about a major score increase. I went up by about 80 points on all 3 CRAs once this was removed. I'll be happy to help you through your issue if my situation was similar to yours.

I'm not sure how current child support payments work, but if there are arrears I believe it's treated like a judgment, and won't come off the report until satisfied.

thanks for the replies and yes im about caught up and was wondering once there is a zero balance if i had a chance or not of getting the child support tradeline deleted
