Who did you dispute with?
How is the balance listed?
If the debt has been paid, both the OC and CA should now show a $0 balance.
If the OC account was ever charged-off, then your CR might still show the amount of the original CO. That would not mean that any debt is owed to them.
The account was charged off. I paid the CA who is reporting paid in full. The OC is still showing the late balance. I've tried talking to the OC which is hard since it was a bank that was sold to another bank, however they were rude and not very helpful. Should I send the bank a letter explaining all this with a copy of the paid in full from the CA to get this taken care of or is there a better way to do it. One CRA was smart enough to figure it out when I disputed it and they fixed it the other two not so smart and said it was still correct which it clearly isn't. Thank you for the help
I forgot to say the OC is still reporting the full balance and a late balance of a different amount.
can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'd send a GW letter to the exact same address as the one on your CR and ask them to update, then go into a "BTW" and ask them to remove any lates and/or neg. comments.
