first premier added more charge offs

My first premier cc charged off in feb. of 2008.  I paid it in full in Nov. 2008  On my EQ report it said CO for Feb. and March. I disputed the account with EQ and now they added "CO" for April through Nov.  This seems malicious on the part of FP.  Will adding the "CO" drop my fico score?

After I paid it off I received a letter from FP saying they would update the account to read "paid in full/charge off" which they never did.

Re: first premier added more charge offs

Am I understanding correctly that the CA is still showing a CO with a balance due? I trust that you still have proof of payment to FP, and a copy of the letter that they responded with? I hope so!

Send a MOV letter to the CRAs reporting, certified mail, but not with a return receipt.

Re: first premier added more charge offs

who said anything about a CA or balance due?  Is my post confusing anyone?

On EQ it reported "CO",
CO=charge off,  for 2/08 and 3/08  The account charged off in feb. of 2008.

After I paid it in full on 11/08  first premier bank sent me a letter stating they would update the account to read as "paid in full/charge off"  on my credit report.  I assume that comment goes into the status area of the tradeline.

I disputed the fact that my EQ report was never updated to reflect "paid in full/charge off"

What came back on my EQ report was "CO"  now for 4/08 thru 11/08 in addition to the original 2/08 and 3/08.

My question is: Does adding the extra "CO" symbol to 4/08 thru 11/08 bring down my fico score, or does fico only calculate the score from the Original charge off date of 2/08?

I will add that I think it is malicious on the part of First Premier to add the "CO" to all the other months.

Re: first premier added more charge offs

have you contacted First Premier directly about their failer to report "paid in full/charge off"? i would think that if you have a letter from the company stating that they would do so that you could contact them and point out that they have failed to do this and include a copy of your report showing such, their letter and proof of payment? but im new at all this so thats just my guess of what i would think to do.

Re: first premier added more charge offs

Usually in the status section it will say something like "payment after charge off" or "charge off/paid", something along those lines.

Is it showing a $0 balance indicating it was paid?

I don't believe adding the extra "CO" comments will have an effect on your score, seeing as it is recent to begin with, but I could be wrong and will have some of the experts chime in.

Re: first premier added more charge offs

OP, adding the extra COs up through the payment month will likely harm your scores even further. I'm really scratching my head to recall which OC, but I do remember having an OC do that and one of our scores dropped as a result. FICO will look at the most recent late and the most severe late. Your last late changed from spring to later in the year. So as long as it is reporting as a "paid CO" or "payment after CO" with a $0 balance with no lates surpassing the month you paid, then it is reporting correctly.

...........ah remembered while typing. DW had an Applied CC that did that. We disputed because it was reporting an unpaid CO beyond 7 yrs from DOFD. We disputed based on CRTP and they added something like 26 lates in total up through the month we disputed, going backwards for the 26. After 2-3 months, it fell off on its own.
