Re: help understanding a negative

At Cookiebird, maybe the student loan website will have your loan info? The website is: https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/index.action

My SL is through another agency but I was able to obtain information regarding it through the US ED website listed above. Hopefully it can help you. Please update if it worked for you.

It may be easier for you to go to the NSLDS here: http://www.nslds.ed.gov/nslds_SA/

The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is the U.S. Department of Education's (ED's) central database for student aid. NSLDS receives data from schools, guaranty agencies, the Direct Loan program, and other Department of ED programs. NSLDS Student Access provides a centralized, integrated view of Title IV loans and grants so that recipients of Title IV Aid can access and inquire about their Title IV loans and/or grant data.

Edit: I have noticed before that the historical status of my loans does not match up with what Nelnet has on file.

Re: help understanding a negative

Thanks. I went to the site but apparently I have used it before because I had a PIN. Now it is saying I have to call for assistance so I will have to check it out later.

The PIN is the same one you set up to initially sign in to any of the .gov sites. You may beable to reset or recover through this site. http://www.pin.ed.gov/PINWebApp/pinindex.jsp

Re: help understanding a negative

I did the reset and it said it worked but when I went to log in I got an error that the PIN didn't match what they had on file and I had to call.

Re: help understanding a negative

You are able to fax Nelnet a copy of your credit report along with your inquiry/dispute, and they will review it. If the information is not correct it will be adjusted, and if it is correct they will explain why. The fax number is 402.458.2298.
