help with a PFD......

So I sent a PFD to Fidelity National Collections in Alliance Ohio. They responded "our agreement with TU and EXP does not permit us to make an agreement to delete an account for the account being paid. If you pay the account, it will be reported as paid at the end of the month." I am stumped as my next step. Pay the bill (under $100) and beg for deletion anyway, like a goodwill? Any help would be appreciated!

The CA is correct.  CAs subscribe to the reporting guidelines set forth in the CRA reporting manual (Metro 2 guidelines), which secifically instruct a CA not to delete an account based on payment of the debt.

If they are taking that position in response to a PFD offer, your chances would probably be even slimmer in getting a GW deletion after you pay.

You could ask for  them to mark the account as "Paid." Specifically excluding the Charge-off, 120 days late, etc... taglines. I believe it being marked simply as Paid would make it a neutral rather then a positive or negative on your CR.
