No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
There really is no legal way to get legit inquiries off your report. You can contact the creditor and ask if they will remove them but, they don't have to.
For the items you paid, start sending out GW letters.
If one's inquiries are legit, and one would like to get them removed by disputes then one would not get any help here in these forums.
I recommend you do not try to use deception to cover up legit inquiries. Inquiries come off within 2 years and sometimes within a year.
But if you dispute them, even though they were legal, you run the risk of dispute comments and split filing.
GW letters would not be of much use for removing inquiries, because there is, infact nothing much to say unless you would like to add
"I had inquired for a new credit card from your company. Unfortunately I have learnt from my mistake and I promise never to do it again. Sniff sniff. You company is the worst possible....... .
I wish you would be abe to oblige me and remove all traces of application from my report so that I do not get embarassed in public."
Thank you.
Regretfully yours,

What should the GWs say? I have trouble wording them due to dyslexia. What points should I focus on also what to include on the gw?
The GW should address what circumstances cause delinquencies, you've learned from your mistakes etc, etc. Make it your own circumstances.

Do gws generally work after things have been paid off?
Yes. I've have never seen one for an unpaid debt work.
