how to handle judgements

In an effort to clean up my report, I remebered I have 4 judgements out there. They are all 6+ years old and don't show up on my credit report.  2 of them are small amounts 500 or less and one is 1000 but one is rather large. I remeber it was 4500 but has jumped up to 7500. I know what this is and I can't tell you how much i dispise this company!!! I went to truck drivers class and it was the biggest joke, I went to 3 classes and told them I won't be back.  They put me in a room with a box full of DVD's and told me to start watching them. LOL So this sleezy company sued me.  It kills me that I have to pay them even a dollar.

Since these are all past the 5 year mark, the larger one is what im asking about, how could I go about offering a settlement for less then the original 4500? I do know the company went through a atty.  Should I call the atty and offer a lump sum payment like 2500? I dont even what to pay that but i want to buy a house in a year or so.

Re: how to handle judgements

If there's a judgement, you're past negotiating. You need to pay it in full or they can go to the courts to have your wages garnished.

Yes you can negotiate a settlement amount even for a judgment and you want these to be settled as they can be renewed in most states forever. i would move to clear them all.
