Starting in 2014, i have been slowly rebuilding my (and wife's) credit after the '08/'09 meltdown. These forums have contributed, so thanks all.
I have managed to shed the sub prime rebuild cards (i've kept Merrick b/c of no annual fee), get my FICO 08 scores in the 730's, and picked up some new CrCards along the way.
Today, i feel at least, my wife and I confirmed our rebuilding efforts:
Today, she got approved for an AMEX Blue Cash Preferred card for $4,8k A card with AMEX is a great step (FNBO was to, but this is with AMEX)
Today, I got approved for the Citi SImplicty Card for $10.3k. A decent SL with one of the bigger companies (and one I have been wanting)
These may be minor steps in the grand scheme of everyting, but for us, these approvals provide some sasifaction from the disaster we encounted in 2008/09 when we allowed ourselves to get over zealous....and we paid a price.
Still have some work to do....but, a little self affirmation during this journey is kinda cool every now and again.
Hapoy 4th all!!
Good Job! Keep on improving! We're all in for better scores and credit profiles!
That is so wonderful! Congratulations!
Congrats!!!
