I think you are asking whether your credit card company can sue you in order to collect on money you owe them.
Yes they can, and if they win the lawsuit, they will get a judgment against you.
They'll have to properly serve you. You'll need to "respond" or "answer" the lawsuit as the paperwork tells you, and then you'll need to go to your court date. If you ignore it, then they'll just get a default judgment. At the point that they sue you, if you can't pay them, then they'll get a judgment anyway.
Some plaintiffs (credit card companies or whoever) will "enforce" the judgment by garnishing your wages or by attaching (seizing) your bank accounts.
Do you have some seriously delinquent credit cards that that you think might result in a lawsuit?
Absofrigginlutely...I went through the experience twice...the first time my wages were garnished. It was utterly embarrassing to have my boss call me into her office to show me the garnishment papers that were sent to my job.
Have you been served? Or did a CA says they are going to filing for a judgment?
Did you get a letter?
