pfd question?

i'm looking to do a pfd but had some questions? this debt is 2 yrs old.its  in collections portfoilio recovery owens the debt now. if they do a pfd how do i get the oc off my report they also reported it to the cra? i want to buy a car next yr so i want to clean up my report. does anyone have any luck with pfd for portfoilo? even if they dont pfd should i pay it? i know my score won't go up but lenders like to see a paid account rather than see money owed?

Re: pfd question?

Since the debt is only 2 years old, you need to be prepared to pay the collection even if they don't agree to PFD since the debt is still within the SOL to collect. Sending a PFD is kind of like waking the sleeping monster, so as long as they still have a legal right to collect it's something you'll probably wind up paying whether they agree to delete or not. Even if you can't get them to delete when you pay, you can continue to send GW letters afterwards to try to get it off your reports. I believe this would be your only recourse with the OC as well.

Re: pfd question?

I would send the CA a DV first.  If they validate you can do the PFD.

Are you sure the CA owns the debt and it is not just assigned?

Have you tried to pay the OC?
