When would be a good time to refinance my loan that I have open? Its at a 36% interest rate with OneMain. I have it paid to around 30% off meaning I owe around $1100, and I would like to get that interest rate lower so I am not paying that much on it. I have had it open for around 2 - 3 months now. Should I just keep paying it down until 0% or should I try and refinance it for a lower rate? If I should refinance it who is a good lender? will NFCU lend to me this soon out of BK? I don't have a local CU and can't get an account open with a Local CU because my Chex Systems report.
Are you a NFCU member?
yes, I opened a savings account back in febuary and at the same time a business checking/savings.
I now have a checking account opened the moment I got my discharge paperwork from Pacer.
So I have been a member for 8 months and a checking account holder for 5 months.
Ok. Do you have enough in savings to pay off that vulture loan? If you have no other loans. Then get the NFCU SSL to build your credit.
I have some cash in a CD account with NFCU, but not enough to pay it off. Even if I did I would much rather hold onto the cash in case anything happens. As I just ate into my savings because of a tire blow out on the freeway, not having to go into debt for that was a nice thing. I have a loan with Self aswell. Its halfway paid off.
