Hello Good People,
It's been a long time. Life! Decided to research a medical debt today that appeared on CK. After several phones calls to the original creditor, former employer and insurance company, I spoke with the collection agency since I wasn't able to get any answers from the others -- bill is from 2016 and their systems didn't have any info.
I inquired about PFD which they do. And when I asked if they reported the debt monthly, the rep replied "no, we report weekly."
Weekly?!?! I've never heard of that. Is that legal? Maybe in my home state it is.
Decided to go ahead and pay the $95 debt while I await a return call from the insurance company.
The good news is that the agency will update the payment next Monday and will remove the debt as though it were never there according to the rep. Received copy of receipt via email before the call was over. Can't wait until next Monday to check CK again. The CA is Collection Bureau of Ft. Walton Beach and showed up as CollBurFTWB.
Hope that helps someone. Be well![]()
Perhaps the rep was confused and meant they *update* weekly, not report weekly. They may have just used the words interchangeably.
In any case, congrats on taking care of it and hopefully it comes off like they said!
Lol. Thanks @OmarGB9 and hopefully so!
When I logged into CK, it read "last reported Sep 27, 2021" which goes along with the weekly updates on Monday? Today I received a Paid in Full letter with the verbage below, so I am looking forward to them doing what they said they're going to do!
