Re: using CK... where Is DOFD?

The actual, separate reporting of a DOFD is only required if a charge-off or collection has been reported.  FCRA 623(a)(5).

Is it a creditor account with a charge-off, or a collection?

While creditors and debt collectors are required to have reported a DOFD once a charge-off or collection is reported, commercial credit reports usually do not include that information in their normal credit reports.

If a DOFD was required to have been reported and is not shown in your credit report, it should be shown in either a report obtained from the government-sanctioned site at annualcreditreport.com, or in a report obtained directly from the CRA.
